Procovery Quote of the Week

Individuals diagnosed with serious physical and mental illness and chronic pain, and those who treat them, often measure success by how well they "recover" or return to a prior state of health. The Procovery program is an approach to illness based on the understanding that sometimes healing has little to do with health; sometimes recovery in the traditional sense is not an option; and often we need to rewrite the scripts of our lives and reach forward to the largely unknown rather than backward to the familiar.

The Procovery program builds upon the idea that each person's path is unique, that idiosyncrasies are the soul and not the bane of healing, and that inflexible treatment protocols and expectations for pain and illness often condemn and imprison rather than heal.

The Procovery program is an approach that embodies a set of specific healing strategies that can be applied by any individual—staff, family member, friend, or consumer—in any health care model or system, for any serious physical or mental illness, or chronic pain, today.

Please take a moment to learn about the Procovery Program and see how it might apply to your own life.

We also invite you to become part of our community and help us help others.
